BRICK MANSIONS is a Hollywood remake of the French cult hit ‘District B13’. The plot revolves around “a dystopian Detroit, abandoned brick mansions left from better times now house only the most dangerous criminals. Unable to control the crime, the police constructed a colossal containment wall around this area to protect the rest of the city. Undercover cop Damien Collier (played by the late PAUL WALKER) is determined to bring his father’s killer Tremaine (the RZA) to justice and every day is a battle against corruption. For Lino (played by Parkour creator DAVID BELLE, who also starred in the original), every day is a fight to live an honest life. Their paths never should have crossed, but when Tremaine kidnaps Lino’s girlfriend, Damien reluctantly accepts the help of the fearless ex-convict, and together they must stop a sinister plot to devastate the entire city.”
With David Belle on-board with this remake, the Parkour action should be top notch. This is also a great chance to watch Paul Walker in one of his last finished roles (he will also be seen in next year’s FAST & FURIOUS 7). Walker is not known for his Martial Arts abilities, but he is actually a Brown belt in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. So look out for his Jiu Jitsu skills to be on full display in this flick.
